What We Do

We publish the quant report which is a tool we use to identify situations where risk is mis-priced.  And we seek to profit from identified opportunities.

We maintain total independence from companies and funds to make sure that we have no bias; we will not even talk to companies as we believe it is more important to hear the story being told by numbers.  Numbers speak a language and it is a language we seek to understand.

We are obsessive about bias; including our own.  The Quant Report is designed to strip out analyst bias.  For instance, we will not project growth rates for specific companies over the nominal GDP growth rates because that is what we see as achievable in the long term; and at any rate it is the growth level we are willing to pay for.  We do have information in the report which will give users who have taken the time to understand the report content an opportunity to identify potential beyond what is indicative on the primary valuation parameters presented on the report.  Numbers on their own are nothing, but they do speak a language - are you hearing the story unfold; more importantly are your listening? If you understand the content  and context of the language, you improve manifold your chance of success.

All this avoidance of bias is restrictive and tiring.  We are opinionated as our blog will show.  In the blog, we throw caution to the wind and allow our own bias to show through.  In our view this makes it less reliable; but we enjoy the release all the same!

We manage a modest amount of money.  We do not seek clients or solicit work, but are more than happy to provide the Quant Report for shares listed in India or United States on a "you ask, we produce" basis, to prospective clients who contact us; this of course for a fee.
